DEEP SEA FISHING

One of Mariposa’s valued guests caught this Blue Marlin just off the coastline from the house.

While there are always fish to catch, mid March through mid May is the bill fish season and it is during this time that you will find the marina full of super sleek sport fishing boats from all over the Eastern seaboard. If you want to try your hand, there are numerous charters available. Although they catch and release the billfish, the Mahi Mahi, Wahoo and other fine eating fish are kept. Kites and live bait are outlawed. Light tackle, spinning tackle and fly-fishing recommended. Prices for charters are $300.00 for a half-day and $500.00 for a full day.
